Ramin Fatehi is a Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney for the City of Norfolk, where he supervises a prosecution team responsible for cases involving drug distribution and possession, impaired driving, and vehicle fatalities, among other things.
Ramin is also the Chair of the Office’s Criminal Justice Reform Working Group, which drafts procedures to implement the criminal-justice reform priorities of Commonwealth’s Attorney Gregory D. Underwood. Ramin has served as a prosecutor for over fourteen years and has specialized in homicide and violent crimes, drug crimes, and financial and property crimes.
Ramin has previously worked as one of Virginia's first two Multi-Jurisdictional Insurance Fraud Prosecutors, an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney for the City of Norfolk, a Special Assistant United States Attorney for the Western District of Virginia in Charlottesville, an Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney for the City of Chesapeake, an Assistant Public Defender for the City of Richmond, and an associate at Kirkland and Ellis LLP in Washington, DC.
Following his graduation from Yale (2000) and Columbia Law School (2003), Ramin served as Law Clerk to the Hon. Elizabeth B. Lacy, Justice of the Supreme Court of Virginia.
